Best VW carb for GL1200 SCC

I've been doing a fair amount of research on a single carb conversion for my GL 1200 but I'm still confused about the various VW clone carburetor models.
Can anyone tell me the specific model that would be best for a GL 1200 conversion.

Let me know if someone ever answers, I would like to know also. I would like to find someone who has done the carb and alternator swap. This way I can do a complete parts purchase for the mechanic.

Will do! So far my research shows that the VW 34 PICT-3 is the carb of choice.
