Unknown Sliced Tubes

Post by rylanmac »

Hello all,

I just bought my first motorcycle, a 1987 Honda GL1200 A Apsencade. I've been conditioning the bike and have noticed these two tubes that are cut. I have tried flipping through the user manual but couldn't figure it out.

What do you y'all think they could be. I would appreciate any help. Thank you! Attached are the pictures.

Welcome to the forum.

I can't really tell from your pix but there are several drain tubes that exit near the centerstand. Do you have a service manual as well?

Yes Sir, I've got the service manual. Couldn't find any talk of drain tubes in it however.

I went ahead and gave a call to a shop "Wing Enterprises" in OKC, sent pics in and they; said both are drain tubes, one for water and one for gas. Thank you for your reply.

One would be coming from the drip area around the gas cap, and the other from the coolant overflow.

There's a battery vent tube as well.

Yes there is a battery vent tube, but these are coming down from above the battery, and I think he would see the battery vent tube coming out of it.
