Hello everybody,
Apologies if i am putting this in the wrong section, but i cannot see a relevant forum.
I live in the north west of Ireland and looking forward to owning a classis wing.
I have just bought A 1986 gL 1200 sei with 52000 miles, it came with it converted over to a single carb and ran poorly ..
I since have it back to what it should be as a fuel injected bike, and thankfully no codes in the ecu or dash.
The radio didn't work, so i have had it repaired ,ready to go back into the bike, while waiting for it, i removed a whole lot of dangerous wiring
to include removing an aftermarket air temperature gauge, radar detector, lane alert, map reading light .
the radio is now back , but while removing the aftermarket stuff ,i removed the cb, amp and splitter box etc.
The problem now is what is the least that i have to put back, just to get the radio operating ,and what connect to what
I know i should have labeled everything, but in my haste i forgot
Do i need the amp,?
DO i need to connect the cb,?
And there is another little small black box, whats that?
also has the din plugs to be connected to the underside of the travel computer,?
all help would be greatly appreciated.

Wow if you put a fuel injection system back on a bike and it runs you are doing great! I would suggest that you post pictures of what you are asking about so people can tell what a little black box is. As people will tell you, get the 1985 limited suppliment to the regular manual. It has lots of good info about what is what in the Limited and SEI models. I cant see why you would not be able to remove the regular radio and CB but others may disagree.

Welcome from the west coast rock of Canada.
The SE-i is going to be a joy to ride when you get it sorted out. You need the manuals for this bike, without these, you'll be asking a lot of questions and probably heading down the proverbial rabbit hole on many an occasion. I'm going to look at my stash of files to see what I have that may be of use to you.

Thanks for the replies,
Yes, the bike runs really well ,even though i have only done about 7 miles , due to snow and icy roads.
The conversion back to fuel injection went really well, I just removed all of the carb related stuff, and fitted all missing injection components.
Believe it or not, all was done in 5 hours, and it started first touch of the button, with a high cold idle of 2150 rpm , and 960 rpm when warm.
The radio job at hand, is more of a nostalgia thing, rather than practicality, I just wanted it to work when people ask, as i have a sena headset in my helmet with radio/ phone /sat-nav.
I actually got the radio to work earlier today good enough for me.
The last job at hand is the front brakes.
I know that the front right caliper is linked to the rear caliper, and works well.
I have rebuilt the front brake master cylinder, removed cleaned and fitted new seals to the caliper, but for the life of me , i cannot get a good front brake.
If i put a clamp on the brake line where it goes into the caliper and pull the lever it has a perfect brake, which proves the m/s and brake lines are good , leaving the problem wit the caliper that i re-built..
I have bled the caliper i would say with in excess of a pint of fluid, and still have little no brake.
with the caliper removed and the pads and line connected you can see the pistons moving out and back in again, is this the caliper flexing or could it be still an air pocket.
I have spent hours at this and am now considering getting a replacement caliper ,
What are year thoughts,?

I have a very out in left field question. The caliper pistons would not be in backwards? Have to ask, you seem to have covered everything else. - it'd be a little oops.
