GL1200 84 battery
Has anyone ever tried using a lithium-ion battery on their Goldwing? Just curious.

My son is going to enjoy it for many years to come.

I have seen a few people do it, a perfect waste of good money.
a Wet Cell is adequate, but takes a bit of monitoring to ensure you don't boil the water out.
AGM batteries are the best for Cost/Performance ratio and Longevity.
Lithium batteries don't take well to over-charging, something to keep in mind. They also have a limited full cycle Charge/Discharge cycles and then they are kaput.

Not really a waste of money to me. I'm building a cafe racer with a 1984 gl1200 and the huge stock battery they have is going to have to go.
