'87....will start up and run, but dies...

Post by GoldPenny »

Ok, owned bikes all my life, just bought a Goldwing. Has a few issues, disclosed, and I love to wrench. Wondering if anyone has had this problem, and can steer me in a possible solution as I get to know this new ride.
Had to jump the battery...it was marked "good" by AutoZone this past January. But if I leave her running, engine will shutdown. I'm pretty sure battery is OK.... But something is causing her to shut off. Dying to ride her, but gotta solve this first!! Thanks for assisting!

Sit tall in the saddle, keep your head up high. Keep your eyes fixed where the trail meets the sky...Live like you ain't afraid to die...And don't be scared....Just enjoy the Ride. :D

Start with the simple stuff first. Connect a volt meter to the battery and start the bike. Watch the voltmeter. What does it read when the engine dies?
