Idles for a while and dies.

Post by Queasy »

Hi All-
I have an '84 Gl1200 Standard and recently gave it bunch of TLC after a couple of years of neglect.
Rebuilt the carbs and hydraulics, cleared the rust out of the fuel tank, lubed it, etc.
It starts fine and idles great for about 30 minutes and then dies. After a cool down, it starts right up and does the same thing.
Any thoughts are much appreciated.

Thanks!
I read about that possibility earlier today. I guess I was hoping for a simpler solution like,"Swear at it louder".

Check to see if your gas cap vent is working, if you hear air going in when you open up the cap then it's probably clogged.

I'm selling good clean fresh hay. If you want some that's already passed through the horse, that comes a little cheaper!
