No start after setting

Post by TopDogTom1492 »

After the bike sets for 3-4 weeks the battery will be dead. I put a new battery and the bike would not start. Second new battery installed and no start for a couple of days and the battery held voltage. I had to walk away for a few days no charger on it and whenI came back it started. It started several times a week for months then set for the 3-4 weeks then no start. Dash lights come on but when push the start button there are clicks but the starter does not turn. I can jump it and it will start.

I use a trickle charger on mine, just plug it in when the bike is at home. It sits for long periods up to 4 weeks. You can get one for around $30.00. It also will save you money on batteries and time. Your battery will be fully charged at all times.

+1 on this. A quality intelligent float charger like the Battery Tender will keep your battery charged at 100% at all times, and will help extend the life of your battery by years.
