fuel dripping out of carb air tube?
hey, so the bike is running, but fuel is dripping out the bottom of a black T fitting that goes between the carbs? (it might be a air tube?) i kind of feel like this is not suppose to happen?

Re: fuel dripping out of carb air tube?
I'm sure there's more expertise here than me, but here's my 2 cents worth. I just had my carbs off a couple days ago to clean them up and I tried blowing air through all the holes I could find. It seems like that black pipe that went between two of the carbs went to a hole at the top of the float chamber. So, when you have the carb assembly off and upside down with the float bowls removed, there's a hole at the bottom of the chamber (so the very top when the unit is right side up). It sounds like you'd have to have the float chamber completely full of fuel for fuel to come out of that pipe. Hopefully someone else will chime in. I'm really new with motorcycles. Tons of experience with engines of all kinds, just got into motorcycles though.

Sounds like you may have one float valve leaking when the carb is up to proper level. If one of the valves is leaking by, the float won't be able to shut off the incoming fuel and the carb overfills. I had that on my 86 GL1200 and after two times cleaning the carbs I bought two float valves and changed both on one side. No more trouble but, just cleaning the valves didn't fix it.
