gravity feed
I am waiting for a pump for my 1984 Aspy. Someone told me they will also run gravty fed. Any truth to this ?

If you fill the tank to the cap you should be able to run gravity feed until you get down to 3/4 tank, at that point the fuel level will be low enough probably not enough pressure to keep the carbs filled under acceleration.
At 1/2 tank or less, the fuel level will be lower than the carbs and won't feed.
At 1/2 tank or less, the fuel level will be lower than the carbs and won't feed.
