I'm currently rebuilding a 1985 GL1200I and have a question about the crankcase/motor case. Can a 1985 GL1200 Limited crankcase be used to rebuild the motor. I think the limited is fuel injected, can carburetor's be used on the limited crankcase? I don't know if there are any other differences in the two motors. The current crankcase right hand case has a hole where the #1 connecting came through the case.

I think they exchange, but. Why not buy a used motor, or another bike? Many, many of the important internal parts for that motor are simply no longer available. Not thorough Honda or the aftermarket.
In the end you may find you've spent a ton of time and way more money than an '85 I will ever be worth.
