'85 gl1200 aspencade front brake issue
my 85 apencade keeps locking up on the front caliper that's actuated with the front master cylinder. even when it's parked and not used for weeks i have to release the bleeder for it let go. is this the brake line or the return on the master cylinder?

Almost certainly the problem is in the master cylinder - the bleed hole is blocked.
There are 2 holes in the bottom of the reservoir that go into the master cylinder bore. A bigger one that often has a small metal deflector plate clipped over it, and a tiny one. The tiny one is blocked.
It is possible to just push a small wire (I use a wire pulled from a wire brush) into it to clear it, but that's probably a temporary fix - you are only pushing the blockage into the bore, it will probably eventually come back to block the hole again.
The guaranteed long-term fix is to rebuild the master cylinder, and flush the brake system.
