Crankshaft rotor

Hello I have an gl 1200 sei motor , which someone else has taken apart, question is the crankshaft rotor is marked with an F , is that to point forward or backwards on the engine ?

If you don't have the factory service manual, I would highly suggest you get one.

I do, but nothing there about which way to turn the rotor
