Center Stand Spring

Post by scsherer »

Can someone please post a picture of the center stand spring on an 85 gl 1200 LTD? I found one in my trunk but I think it's the wrong one. Too stiff and too short. We have struggled to get it on and just can't do it. What is the un-stretched length? Thanks!

Have you tried the penny technique?

What with inflation, you probably have to use nickels these days.

Yes, the penny method is the only reliable (and sensible) way to get these springs installed. They are just too stiff otherwise.
