84 GL1200 Crankcase Breather Tube Hose Replacements

Post by 84Goldwingblack »

The downline to the storage collector tank is cracked and ripped with the collector tank previously cracked as well - likely from winter. Any recommendations on replacing the hoses? Vacuum tubing? Fuel line? Something braided for looks? I have a black hose no joint to transparent section either.

Is this the little triangular tank on the left side of the bike? If so, any hose will do.
There's no pressure, or stress, on it and it is only transporting condensation. (water)

How about the line from engine to crankcase breather unit?

The big one? The original was pre-shaped so that is a little harder. Maybe you can find one on eBay. Maybe you can find some flexible hose the same diameter. I don't know but again, it's nothing that requires a special material.

Left the original line from engine vent to crankcase breather intake and the original line for gasses to the air filter. Replaced the moisture line with vinyl tubing to the crud water collection tank. You can visually see the system working now with the occasional moisture bead in the downstream line to the collection tank. Air filter was very nasty after a few years. Oil and air filter to Hiflo brqand for now. Looks like what was pulled. Rear drive fluid soon. Clutch and brakes new fluid soon.
