Hey everyone got an interesting question regarding my 84 aspy.
i’ve got the rear wheel off to change the tire. this was one of many goals this maintenance session. i was replacing a bunch of things including the rear drive flange. looking at gear teeth on the pumpkin side, they are real bad, pic attached, so i bought a new one. i purchased on ebay best that i can tell a 42614-MG9-000 off an 85 unspecified or interstate goldwing. that part number is the specified part number for my bike far as i can tell from online part vendors like partzilla.
but now that i’m reassembling the part that i got (which has MG9, 6 or 9, and N cast in it) does not fit up to my rear wheel. now that i’m checking, the flange that came off my bike has ML8, 1 and B cast in it. the part that does not fit is the inner bore. the 6 pegs line up fine but the bore on the new part, the mg9 part, is too small to fit over the bearing boss on my rear wheel. can anyone help me identify what parts i have/what bikes they came off of? for now i think i’m putting the old linda clapped flange back on and hoping it lasts to the next tire change lol. thanks.
