FM Radio

Post by samson II » Mon Oct 29, 2012 7:53 pm

I have a 1995 goldwing SE the FM radio only plays static and the AM and the tape deck plays good. The FM played one time since I bought it.
I was playing a tape and switched it to FM and it played until I turned the key off after that it hasn't played since. I have checked the antenna connections under the seat and on the back of the radio. What could be the problem?

If the AM is still working well (picking up reasonably distant stations) and the FM is not at all, I'd suspect a problem inside the radio itself. Try playing AM and disconnecting the antenna. If the AM station turns to static, then you can rule out the antenna as being the source of the problem. If that's the case, you may want to ship it off to Sierra for their $100 flat rate repair.

If you disconnect the antenna and the AM radio reception doesn't change, then your problem is likely the antenna or cable leading to it.
