I want to remove the rear fender piece that holds the license plate and rear center reflector. I just haven't figured out what is still holding it on. (I've already put everything back on until at least Monday when I have off again).
I already know how to remove the lower saddle bag corners and the the rear center reflector.
Are the license plate bracket mounting bolts the only screws still securing it?
FYI: I'm trying to snake some wires up from aftermarket saddle bag corner lights to the lower truck wiring area.
How to remove rear fender piece?

First you need to remove the trunk under cover. Then remove (or at least loosen and slide outward) the two saddlebags, as they have plastic "pins" that hook up with the center rear fender part.Metal_Bob wrote:I want to remove the rear fender piece that holds the license plate and rear center reflector. Then remove the two bolts holding the license plate holder in place as shown below. The fender will come right out.
When reinstalling, put the fender in place, put the fender in, but install the two bolts loosely. Then slide in the saddlebags and tighten them in place. Only after the saddlebags are in place, tighten the bolts on the license plate holder. This makes sure the fender piece is centered and held in the correct position by the saddlebags before tightening it in position.

Re: How to remove rear fender piece?
Thank you for the info/reply.
Now I can properly take off the rear fender next week
I may just take the saddlebags all the way off, clean them better and realign the right door a little (I doesn't close/line up as well as the left one).

Re: How to remove rear fender piece?
Can you please tell me how to remove the “lower trunk” and how to loosen the side bags to remove the rear fender and reflector
