They're actually pretty much equivalent. Unlike other Goldwings (including the GL1800) that have captured ball bearings, the GL1500 steering head uses tapered bearings:

The universal upgrade for other models of Goldwing is to replace the OEM ball bearings with higher-capacity tapered bearings. The GL1500 has them already from the factory.

The All Balls bearings are just relabeled bearings from another manufacturer, and they are good quality bearings - just cheaper than OEM Honda. Either will work just as well, so it's your choice.

This maybe of some interest..

Nachi is a Japanese Bearing manufacture.

The bearing used in the ALL-Balls kit 22-1060 (Nachi E 32005 J) is ONLY made by this company.
ALL.. of the other bearing producers, do not produce a bearing this particular size.

Nobody... but Nachi makes this bearing (I can only wish someone else made a bearing this size.. rats.)

I'm curious if Cryo-Tec treatment would improve the OD ??
Anyone ever sent this bearing off for processing? pc
