Aftermarket Radio Wiring

Post by heinzeroth » Sun May 07, 2017 10:49 pm

Hey Guys,
I installed an aftermarket radio on my 97 GL1500 SE and it works fine running twisted wire RCA cables direct back to amp and running speakers wires from amp to speakers. Used pins #9 12v+ , #17 ground, and #18 12v+ backup memory to radio to retain preset radio channels, clock, etc.

My question is if any 12v+ is need to the 6P connector pins 28-33 - I see reverse switch and some data , load, clock, ground, and blanking (what is blanking)?

Is there a Scosche wire harness adapter for the 6P connector?

I have no first hand experience but the Scosche D001B and the Metra 70-8405 for '99 and up Daewoo's are suppose to fit.

I am soon going to install an after market radio in my GL1500. Did you lose LCD display or any other features that would relate to the OEM radio?
Thank you in advance.

Please give us some information on where you mount the radio and do you remove the oem radio. Does this use the oem buttons on the top of the shelter? This interests me because I would like to add XM but I don't want the problem of a input jack on the GW radio and I would rather not have to mess with the fm feeds.
