Ignition wires

Was wondering, as my bike passes 20 years old, is it time to change the ignition wires? I haven't had any issues with them but the age is beginning to worry me. Most cars recommend replacing their wires at least once every 5 years so I am thinking once every 20 years aint bad.

Any thoughts??

I will 2nd that sentiment. The easiest way to change plug wires is to remove the fans for access to the coils which can be a pain in the neck, not a task to be taken lightly. The wires are going to run close to $150.

I have replaced wires on one 1500 which caused a skip in the engine and was most noticeable on cold starts.
