Stereo Question
Hey all, with all the discussions about aftermarket stereos being used on our GL1500s, I THINK I saw a reply that included a part number from Metra maybe, that was a car stereo wiring harness adaptor that fit our bikes with like one wire out of place. I think it was for a Honda car, but I do not recall what car, and I can not seem to find the thread again. . . . does anyone recall this information ? THANKS

Re: Stereo Question
Can it be metra connector 70-8405 (female) or 71-8405 (male)?

Re: Stereo Question
This is the side I need to connect to a aftermarket stereo and plug it into my bikes wiring harness then ? I want to put a marine headhunt inlace of the factory one. Are all the wires in the right places/color codes or do I need to swap one or two around ? THANKS for the links too.MikeB wrote: ↑Thu Aug 31, 2017 1:52 pm The male pin connector, radio receptacle, is availabe from Amazon.

Re: Stereo Question
The wires in the OEM connector are as in the picture. In my opinion the wire colors will not match with the connector you will buy.

Re: Stereo Question
It would be a pretty big coincidence if the wires of the connector you order matched the Gold Wing wiring. You will no doubt have to check every wire and compare it to the wiring diagram.

Re: Stereo Question
Looking at all those pretty colors, I really need to get a FSM, SOON ! LOL I guess it will take a bit more research to figure out what wires I will need and what ones I don't. Due t the way I plan to have the stereo end up, mainly I will need the ground, switched hot and constant hot. I will loose intercom,cb and LCD screen, so those are not needed. What else is in that wiring harness/plug ?Erdeniz Umman wrote: ↑Thu Aug 31, 2017 5:32 pm The wires in the OEM connector are as in the picture. Re: Stereo Question
It took approximately 15 days to prepare them. You will find all of the diagrams given in the 94 service manual, and use them for 93-2000 models.Uncle Fester wrote: ↑Thu Aug 31, 2017 5:53 pm Very cool, I will have to TRY to remember my user name and password so I can get it. Note that 88-89, and 90-92 models have some differences.

Re: Stereo Question
I have a '96 Aspencade, so we are good there. Thank you for all the hard work you put in to make those, I am sure they will be very helpful with a FEW problems I am having with this stubborn old girl !
