bypass reverse switch

Post by 1994wing » Thu Sep 07, 2017 3:57 pm

I have a 94 1500, which originally had a reverse. I am changing the motor with a standard that does not have a reverse and it won't turn over. All I get is a click on the left side relay B. I believe it is because the reverse switch has nothing to make contact with internally to tell it not in reverse. I checked with my other 1500 with a reverse and there is continuity with the switch, but not on the bike with no reverse. Anybody know how to bypass the reverse switch or the reverse system and the bike still run?

You have a left over unattached green/orange stripe wire which went to the reverse switch by the oil dipstick area on the old engine. Attach that to an engine ground point for starter to work.

I did that and still no spark and fuel pump not pumping. Starter turns.
