Cornering Lights

Post by PedroTQ » Wed Sep 20, 2017 11:49 pm

G'day to All,

A long time ago I converted my Cornering Lights to Day Lights that stay on all the time, and I fitted LED lights in them.

Whilst fitting my new to me chair I checked them and Pooooo! what a stink of burning electronics came from within them, obviously getting too warm.

I decided to change them out with the LED panels which are nice and cheap.

I soaked the cornering light units in Mineral Turpentine overnight and the sealing gunk dissolved a little so the lenses prised off real easy the next day.

I spliced the new LED's together in pairs and after cleaning the housing silicone one side in place, left overnight to cure then silicone the other half in place.

Left them for a week to cure, then after cleaning the lenses I used "D-Mastic" to seal them all together.

Sorry no finished item pics (yet) and I hope they run cooler than the others. Time will tell.

Be nice to see a pic of the bike all litted up with them! :D
They say 98% of all Hardleys ever made are still on the road..... The other 2% made it home.
(I stole this from somebody on another GW site...)

Here are my running lights (in weed city). the day was slightly overcast. The carpet on the mudguard is to let my dog Dixie out without scratching the Duco.
