air deflectors
I have a 95 Goldwing. The wife gets a lot of turbulence on the back. What I want to know is do those add on air deflectors work as advertised?

Re: air deflectors
My wife always complained of the same thing. I put on a set of Baker wind wings that helped somewhat, but what made a huge difference, and solved the problem, was putting a tall windshield on. She now says there is no turbulence whatsoever.

Re: air deflectors
And putting a GL1800 vent into it makes it even better.
Oops, scratch that, you 1500 guys already have vents..

Re: air deflectors
I got the tall Slipstreamer, from MotorcycleWindshield.com, which had the lowest price that I could find online.
Here is the one that I got.

It might have something to do with the post being 11 years old.

Re: air deflectors
I had heard a rumor that SlipStreamer was discontinuing the long screen, however I've found them at CycleMax and the site says they are in stock. I guess the rumor was just that! The one I got for my 1500 measures 34" (according to the site).

Re: air deflectors
The SlipStreamer is still around, it is the Tulsa Tall (which is what the SlipStreamer is a copy of, and may be part of the reason for them going out of business) that is no longer available.PunWinger wrote: ↑Sat Aug 29, 2020 9:23 am I had heard a rumor that SlipStreamer was discontinuing the long screen, however I've found them at CycleMax and the site says they are in stock. Re: air deflectors
My 2000SE had a Tulsa Tall on it when I bought it. I bumped my head on it just about every time I got on the bike. I took that thing off and put a Cee Bailey windshield on there. I liked the Tulsa for the lack of wind on me when riding but I couldn't put up with the thing being back so far into the riders area that I hit my head on it getting on. Also, mine had the half moon shaded area on the LCD display when I got it and I am convinced that happened when it was sitting out in the sun with the for sale sign on it. The previous owner was my riding buddy and his widow was selling the bike. I know that screen was in good shape when we were riding together. That tall, leaned back windshield will focus the sun on your dash and ruin the LCD if you don't do something to keep the sun off it when parked. I had to replace the LCD screen after I bought it.

Re: air deflectors
I cut mine down to about 20" as I could stand bumping into it and not able to see where I was going when it rains...
It was going to be a temporary solution for this summer but it's turning out to be just about right for me. I think it is going to stay like that for a while...

That's it! The Tulsa Tall. Thanks Blu! They say that the memory is the second thing to go!
Mine catches me on the chest just below my collarbone which isn't really a big deal since it flexes in the mounts enough to move out of the way. I only need to be careful of not scratching the top of the screen with whatever is sticking out of my shirt pocket (pens, glasses, phone, ...)! Besides that, I love it!
