1988 radio

Post by kane67 » Sun May 20, 2018 10:32 am

After a week standing under cover, temps 70-80F, went for a ride and when I turned radio on, left channel has volume right away about 40% and if I turn volume knob about half I can hear right side coming along.
Does volume knob adjust channels or is it something in mother board?

Even I turn volume knob min-max many times it don’t change behavior, left side keeps volume when power is turned on...

I feel winner today, steering is been in lock position, seems that clutch lever/piston is leaking in the handlebar...
And drops has done their job in the left inner fairing... :x

Found this old post viewtopic.php?t=14602
Need to open the radio and check soldering points (VR301-1 and VR301-2)

Knob off, dust seal off. I sprayed cleaner to it and turned back and forth.. now it works.

Yup, this would have been my first suggestion. Electrical contact cleaner into the volume control, and work the control back and forth.
