question about Delo 400 LE 15W/40

Post by shadboy » Wed Aug 01, 2018 7:53 pm

I know a lot of y'all use it in your Wings. I don't see the JASO MA/MA2 on the label or the PDS on DELO's website. Am I just overlooking it?

No, I believe it is just not there. Delo is designed for diesel engines to the best of my knowledge. Any oil is better than no oil, but I won't use it. As you said, lots of folks do.
It ain't about the destination - it's all about the journey

I was one who used it in a 94 and a 98, both liked it, if you consider the shifts were nice and quiet.

on my 1800, I have switched to Rotella T6

The Delo 400 LE 15W/40 is discontinued in my area and has been replaced with the Delo 400 SDE 15W/40. The Mfg. stated it is equal/or better than the LE in their tests but had a higher level of, , sulfur (IIRC). I've been using the SDE for this current oil change, but I plan on switching to the Rotella T5 15W/40 when I change the filter next time. The SDE has performed great, and I have no complaints about the shifting (smooth), the idle (purrs nicely), and never noticed any "oil light" flickers.
