Amazed by Rotella
I finally switched from Honda oil to Rotella. I really didn't think it would make any difference at all, but I must admit that my Wing shifts so much better than before. Now, it shifts like the Cadillac it's supposed to be. Thanks to all of you who recommended it. Rotella made my bike much more enjoyable to ride.

I switched over to Rotella when it became hard to find my old friend Delo 400
and so far, I have enjoyed a nice time with it.

2 years ago, I went with T5 in 10w30, this year I went with T6 in 5w40 because I wanted to avoid the AGR problem at colder temp startups. Re: Amazed by Rotella
I miss quoted that, it is ADG
on the 01-05 models, there has been a problem with the Alternator Drive Gear shearing.
at first, it was thought to be with "too thick" oil viscosity at startup in cold weather,
but I have since heard from some techs who have fixed this, that the owners admitted to winding out their engines to the Red Line consistently.... so, considering that the alternator has to spin faster than the engine, the RPMs of the alternator are really getting into the stratosphere when you red line the engine.
I switched to 5w40 Rotella T6 simply to keep the startup process from "stressing" the ADG
in '06 Honda changed the ADG to a stronger one, and the problem went away.
I just keep my tach below 5,000 and don't worry about it.
