Rear brake system

Post by silverider »

I am 82 years young and still riding my 1999 GL1500 with a Hannigan 2+2 sidecar.Recently I developed "drop foot" in my right ankle. I have trouble operating the foot brake pedal efficiently. Has anyone combined all brake cylinders to work from the hand brake lever? Theoretically I need a longer brake cable from the rear brake cylinder to the brake lever using a double banjo nut to accommodate the new brake cable. Has anyone ever done this? Any help or other suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Right now I am using only the front brake and downshifting which is not good.

Something like this maybe, https://disabledmotorcyclerider.com/klever.html
The stock front brake master cylinder does not have the capacity to operate both or all 3 if the sidecar has a brake.
