First and simplest test I learned for no-start on these bikes.

Check your kill switch, knob right hand bar, top.
Even if its in the right position, the wires running to it are mounted inverted and easily seems to come unscrewed over time.

Open the switch housing, find and tighten slightly! the 2 screws.

This did NOT help mine. The switch is worn out.
Fix= screw both wires to 1 terminal, =kill switch is always on "Run"
I use the key ignition for everything now.

Problem solved.

I lost a week of riding when this happened to me.
Fix took 10mins.

This is only a start, it could be something more serious.

Good luck.

The reverse switch..It's a 2 part switch.Only half shows on the dash as the "R" light works. The other half has no indicator.Should it not make connection in the switch, the bike will not start.
Operate the reverse lever several times then try to crank it again.Should it start again, suspect the switch is bad.

thanks for the input, i have tried the kill switch and reverse switch, i still have nothing, the relay by the battery will click but the one by the brake will not, for some reason it is not getting volts to that relay or the starter,

My first check would be the inline fuse B. It is near the battery and covered with a rubber sleeve. It is a 5 amp fuse and if it is blown the other starter relay will not function.

i have found 2 5amp fuses in a plastic holder that is covered by a sleeve they are to the left of the battery , is that what you are referring to ? well they are good, i am going to try swapping the relays, its the only thing i can think of, if it was the BAS wouldn't that have shut down the bike when it was still running? i found out the starter wasn't working while the bike was still running and tried to use reverse i saw a post where the guy had a relay that made a click but was bad, maybe that's the case with my bike ,well i hope i can find the problem , i sure don't want to take it to the dealer and bend over, thanks to everyone for the help . bob

Do you have a volt meter or a 12 volt test light?

Have you checked the battery voltage? The 1500 is power hungry.

Another thing to check is the neutral safety switch, I replaced mine a few months ago because it was causing a no-start problem for me. Fortunately it's an inexpensive common part used on a lot of Hondas. It is located next to the oil dipstick, you can see pics on my thread:

Winging it every chance I get 8-)

19,119 miles when I got it from dad Oct 15, 2017 --- 24,532 miles and counting as of Oct 17, 2018!

i do have a auto range volt and ohm meter i did check the neutral switch and it seemed good i will try taking the wire off and grounding to the case and see what happens , i have also talked with the local honda dealer and have got some other ways to check the relay, and they they also told that if the starter is drawing to much amps it will look like the relay is bad, im stumped with this, it was working fine then nothing,i know that with all the help from everyone i will get this thing fixed, thanks again ,

With the volt meter, push and hold the start button..probe each of the 2 small wires on the relay that doesn't click.
Volts or none?

No volts .no click...Move your probe to the other solenoid big posts..One should be battery volts and the other have volts when you push the start button.
Even tho the solenoid clicks doesn't mean it's working.Volts should come from the first solenoid through a 5 amp fuse to one of those 2 small wires on the other solenoid.

well i have no volts coming out of the relay that clicks, and i have looked all over for the 5 amp fuse and can not find it, i did see 2- 5 amp fuses on the left side in a white holder covered with a sleeve, tucked in over some relays. is there a pic on this site of where the other fuse is? i just don't see it.it seems to me that maybe the relay is whats bad and needs replaced,i hope that's all because it looks like fun changing out the starter.thanks bob

Ok.The relay that clicks...it has battery volts on it ok and when you push the start button, that voltage does not show up on the other terminal??
Cool.do it again and jump those 2 big terminals with a screwdriver. It should crank up and verify the other solenoid is ok and the starter is good.
