UNOBTAINIUM 2.0 PANEL 83160-MN5-XXX (Firecreek style)

Post by bluthundr31 » Sun Dec 23, 2018 1:36 am

This is the UNOBTAINIUM 2.0 Ignition/gauge panel for all years of the GL1500 produced from the "Firecreek" concept/style. Minor modifications were made for production to improve durability of material and strengthen bosses.

THESE PANELS ARE GREAT FOR MOUNTING GAUGES AND ACCESSORIES SUCH AS, , VOLTMETERS/AMP GAUGE, AMBIENT TEMP, OIL TEMP, TPMS, COOLANT TEMP, GEAR INDICATOR, ADDITIONAL USB PORTS, INDICATOR LIGHTS, GO-PRO POWER, FM MODULATOR SWITCH AND MANY, MANY OTHER GADGETS.
THE WASTED SPACE BETWEEN THE CENTER-SHELTER AND THE DASH CAN NOW BE THE CENTER-PIECE OF YOUR GAUGE CLUSTER.
It comes in BLACK only, and there is only a few panels left. More panels will be arriving in January 2019. They are MADE IN USA!

These panels cost me $129 from the vendor, and payment fees are another $4 per panel, so I am NOT making any profit at my selling price.
The price of each panel, for members, is $132.00 plus $13.65 (Flat rate medium box USPS) to anywhere in the lower 48 states.

A few lucky members who paid have already been told that "SANTA" has their panel on the way to their doorstep, and they'll arrive on 12/26.

Interested members should PM me to confirm I have panels on hand and I use payments through PayPal.

You did a great job finding a vendor that could reproduce the original panel. The panel looks precisely like the originals as well. Nice work.
Have you test fit the new panel to the bike? From all appearances it should fit but only after installing the panel will you be able to tell.

Amazing quality reproduction. However did your provider recreate? Did they take an impression from an original, or laser scan it?
There are two types of people in this world, those that can extrapolate from incomplete data,

Yes sir, one of the first things I did was run out to my beast and checked that they fit correctly. The vendor sent back my original, and the fit is identical to the newly reproduced panels. FITMENT AND APPEARANCE IS OUTSTANDING!!!

I did not get a laser scan of the original but that is something that can be done in the future if needed. All of the vendors I contacted quoted thousands of dollars JUST TO MAKE A MOLD. The average cost of the Laser scan was over a thousand dollars, and seemed to be an irrelevant cost for the process with this particular vendor.

Thanks guys for the compliments on the panels.

My only regret with this "project" was that I didn't include a "visor" to cover the gauges from direct sunlight. (Hindsight is 20/20)

One of the members who purchased the Unobtainium 2.0 panel found the perfect solution!!! (Really nice "FIND" ecarmichael)

http://www.dashvisor.com/Gauge-Visor.html

Its a simple (single screw to attach to the Unobtainium 2,0 panel) attachment to solve any "glare" issue for about $15+ shipping.

Bluthunder31, you are awesome!
The "package arrived today, Christmas eve, just like you promised!
This cover is going to be so awesome. I can't wait to figure out what I will" put in mine ". Seems I'm back to the list that started all of this for me.

My legacy cover came to me without the tabs in the top corners. Trust me, I will be very careful to not snap them off on the Unobtanium 2.0.

I can't compliment Bluthunder31 enough. He has been awesome to work with.

Well done! It looks just like my Firecreek panel did. This should make many folks happy to find them available instead of unobtainium!

A picture of the original Firecreek panel my 1500 had for others to compare.

I also put a hood over mine to be able to see the gauges better in daylight .

1st picture is it on my 99 Aspencade
2nd is on my 99SE

Nice setup Newday777.

Are the square red lights a toggle on-off for an accessory??

That 50th badge looks good too.

I want to thank WingAdmin for the kind comments, AND for the feature article in the January 2019 Newsletter regarding the Unobtainium 2.0 panel. It is cosmetically identical to the original Firecreek Accessories panel which is no longer in production.

Now that the dust has settled on getting this project off the ground, I need to thank and acknowledge the help/guidance of AZgl1800 (John). Many months ago this panel was a topic of discussion to those of us who "wanted" one. John found one at a local auction and bought it. He had no "NEED" for one since he has the 1800, but he knew fellow members were looking for one. He then PM'd a few of us who had voiced interest and said that he would sell to the "first-to-respond" to his PM. It was Johns, original Firecreek Accessories, panel that was used as the "template" in the molding process. John has been a great resource for me in this endeavor and deserves a great deal of credit from those who will enjoy this panel in the future.
THANKS AZgl1800 (John)!!!

I have had a few "International" members want this panel.

I WILL ship these panels abroad with the "caveat" that the shipping costs will vary depending on the "Customs" regulations for each country/destination. I will maintain the panel cost at $132.00 USD for members, but International shipping will be more than the $13.65 Domestic fee.

Payments can be made at PayPal.Me/Bluthundr31

INTERNATIONAL MEMBERS PM ME FOR DETAILS.
