To the best of my knowledge..NO.
The 88/89 uses a 2 post electrical connection.Both positive and negative connections.90 and up use a single positive post.
As plug and play it won't electrically be the same..

It would be interesting to try it. If it bolts up correctly, it may work, as the later model would ground through the housing and simply not use the negative cable. I'd be apt to trying it. Let us know if you decide to try it.
