Rebuilt carb runs wide open...

Post by Jag39 »

I just rebuilt the carbs on my GL1500SE. Used the actual shop manual, and a Randakk's kit. Just got the carbs reinstalled, and first crank up resulted in immediate 5,000 rpm. Shut it off, rechecked that throttle was opening and closing the butterflys, and not sticking. Restarted, same thing. I'm just before pulling them off again, but it was such a pain putting the radiator hoses back on, plus, don't know where to really start looking again, but don't want another red-line start-up, either. Felt sure some throttle linkage was bound up, but everything looks good there. Anyone have any ideas on this ?
