Is Limited Edition GL1500 a Canadian Version?

My 2000 GL 1500 says the same thing on the back of the seat: “Canadian Edition.” The gauges are also in metric format even though it was built in Ohio from what I can tell. The VIN begins with “1-HFSC22” just like my other “1500’s.” So, who knows?

The Canadian Edition bikes started in 1992. They've been talked about here a couple of times:

They were not just LE's, as far as I know there were "Canadian Edition" of all the trim lines.

What color is your 90?
According to the paint color reference for 1990 GL1500's:


1990 GL1500
Candy Wineberry, R114CU. Lower cowl colour is Rime Gray, NH276
Carmel Blue, PB224

1990 GL1500 SE
Pearl Pacific White, NH251P. Insert colour is Eagle Silver Metallic, NH275M. Lower cowl colour is Ocean Gray Metallic, NH253M.

I bought a near mint Pacific Pearl White one last fall with 30k km's on it in northern New Brunswick. The barn finds are out there.

Sorry, that message was supposed to go somewhere else. However, on the topic of Canadian bikes, the speedo on the 90 is large metric/small mph indicators. The key has the gl1500 logo over a large maple leaf on white background. Trim has gold goldwing scripting and mocha seat, shelter and seat rain cover. My 2000 was metric with canadian key also. Don't think I've ever seen a Canadian embossed seat. Neat.
