I run into a nasty problem with my carburetors. The mixture screws are ceased solid and cannot be adjusted.
I will have to replace those carburetors. There is a few available on Ebay. So my questions is, other than 1990 and 1991 carburetors, what others years bike carburetors will work on my 1990 GL1500 SE?
Would appreciate any info regarding swapping those carburetors.
Thanks.

Re: 1990 Carburetors Compatibility
I've read posts on another forum of putting later years on the early 1500s. I think they had to redo the vacuum lines at minimum. I'll see if I can find a link

Re: 1990 Carburetors Compatibility
Well I haven't been on goldwingfacts.com since they sold to the mc forum giant and can't access it anymore but there was a guy that put a later engine in his early 1500 because of a bad tranny and used his early carbs and had to deal with plumbing differences, might have been the emissions tubes? You might try going on there and doing a search.
I have a set of low mile 99 carbs available that just need carb kits and ultrasonic cleaning.

Re: 1990 Carburetors Compatibility
Here are a couple of threads about replacing the carbs on early models with later model carbs. It seems that there are some minor changes to do but it looks like it would be fairly easy to swap to a later carb.

Thank you all for your comments.
Terrific links, Bellboy40. Looks like it should not be a major issue to swap with a later unit.
Newday777, I am interested with your 99 carbs. I did send you a pm!
Thanks.
