check your fuel lines for a leak or maybe one of the lines is not secure where they come from the tank to the carbs - you should be able to spot a leak or slow leak pretty easily by the moisture - don't use a naked flame to pinpoint the area...

Yep, , check that drain tube for the gas cap "tray", , a leaky petcock can drip onto it and fill the drain tube. Pull the drain plug to see what's in the tube, , it might shed some light on whats leaking and from where.

Mine did that when the fuel cap's vent clogged. It would release pressure in the garage (wouldn't have noticed it while riding, of course) like a long, silent, gasoline fart. Made my eyes burn. Cleaned the cap & its vent, problem never happened again.
