Restoring/Painting hand control markings

Post by HiRef »

New here and didn't find anything in a search. I recently purchased a '88 GL1500. The markings on the controls are faded or warn off. (CHOKE, STOP-RUN-STOP, etc) I would like to repaint the words back on to get them more visible. Has anyone done this or have any recommendations of products that could work/hold up over time?

Thank you for your time.

I have the same problem on my 90.
I use vinyl lettering on my rc planes and thought about having some cut and see how they look. Once properly installed they are amazingly durable.
That though, is far down my list of things to do.

you can use a nice bright red fingernail polish or you can use any color you want but red looks good,
then use some back to black for the outer body and it will bring back that nice clean look

Use a crayon, fills in the letters and extra material wipes right off. will last longer than you would think and its cheap and easy.
