rear suspension adjustment question

Post by nowcom »

Hi Guys,
I've been looking all over the place to answer a simple question, and should have come here first.
I'd like to set the rear suspension fairly stiff as my wife rides with me a lot.
The issue is that living in BC, my gauges are set for kg/m or something ridiculous like that.
I'd like it set for maximum without harming anything.
Any ideas how much pressure to pump the cylinder up to in the metric readout?
Thanks.

Manual says 4.0 kg/cm2 = 57 psi for max inflation measured on center stand.

Thanks for the reply.
When I got the bike back from the show, it was already at 5.75.
Curious how it got up there.id there any way to have the readout show standard imperial values?

Was that reading with the bike on center stand? Pressure will go up with the weight of the bike on the wheel.

Having said that, I have another question regarding air pressure - When I had all the rear plastic off the bike to weld broken trunk mounts I discovered PO had installed aftermarket shocks.

What's the recommended pressure range for dual Progressive 416's? Same as the OEM single air shock? (OEM is one air shock, the other has just a spring)
