So, I know that there is a great shifter support out there for sale, and I know it is well built, does its job and is a reasonable price. However, I am broke. So, about 6 months ago I was at work (normally work remotely from home) and I had one of our Waterjet machines available to me. So, I drew up a shift support bracket and cut a few out.
I then ordered a used shift lever, cut it down and drilled out the splines to slip over the other lever.
At first when I installed it, I had a hex head bolt holding the support bracket, but I had not counter sunk it and it hit, so I took it off, drilled it out so that the bolt is flush with the bracket. Now it all works and it feels real solid.
Total cost to me, $12.
