Pumping oil out breather

Pulled motor to replace starter gear now after bike is running about 5 minutes it starts pumping oil out breather tube the bike is idling fine and the plugs are clean compression is around 190 on all cylinders still does it even with fill plug removed to reduce crankcase pressure I plan on doing leak down test

Did it do this before you pulled the engine to replace the starter gear. ? When you replaced your engine oil after you put the engine back in did you put to much oil in the crank case. I had a 1987 that would pump oil out of the breather untill it found a level it liked which was a little less then the recommended amount. Just a thought.....

When I replied, it was in the technical section questions. Now looking under the 1500 models this shows there too. Still a good idea to include your year and model when posting.

If it's doing it with the fill plug removed, then you've removed the blow-by pressure as a possible cause, the most likely candidate is then too much oil in the engine.

There is a pick-up for an oil scavenging pump at the rear of engine where you were working, could it have been disturbed? The breather attachment port is on the rear cover BTW.
