95 gl1500 pilot screw stripped
Trying to get the pilot adjust screw out of my 95, I ended up destroying the threads In the carb body. Dont ask. Is there a thread insert I can buy or should I get a different set of carbs.

Re: 95 gl1500 pilot screw stripped
Recently happened to me. The seal inside gets stuck to the body of the carb.
I replaced the carbs. Rebuilt with Randakks kit. I am not at home but if you'd like I can get you the eBay link for where I got them later...

Thanks , but I have a line on an insert possibly at Napa. I just have to bring in the other pilot screw to see if they actually match. I ordered new pilot screws already . I'll try this first.

Napa having metric fine tread inserts... PLEASE, let me know what the reference number is; if they do have them.
I did use the new set of pilot screws on the replacement carbs that I had ordered when I was looking into fixing the damaged carb body.
I wouldn't mind fixing my old carburators.
Cheers.
PS: Just in case... https://www.ebay.ca/usr/al_sgarage001?ul_noapp=true
I would recommend this eBay seller. He had a few set of carbs. I ended up putting a 96 set on my 90 SE...

I actually contacted Napa also today and the one I pass every day said they have 2 metric ones in stock. Tomorrow I am going to stop there with my good screw and I will post the results.

I stopped by Napa today . The thread inserts they have are just standard metric fine and course threads. Not anything for a pilot screw.

Too bad. I was hoping for just a minute...
Thanks for letting us know.
Just so you know...Be careful when you put your carbs back in. I have a hose right in front of the left mixture screw which prevent me from doing the fine tuning!
I will have to go back in and see which one it is. For now they are at the same setting as before the rebuilt. 2 turns on left side and 1 7/8 on the right.
Cheers
