'00 1500 SE with rear speakers and no CB/fader

Lucky me, i found a 2000 Annivers Model last fall with 7k miles in excellant shape. It says on title and PO says it is an SE. There is no CB. Has cassette.
I am now looking into the lack of sound from rear speakers. I have found the under seat single connector splitting off to both sides and am about to try a known working speaker and test exist. I got a extra seat with it and fig PO pulled connector in process of swapping but connector seems ok.
Do I have an SE?
Where would the fader be? Looks like clutch pod from my honda serv manual.
Why dont the rear speakers work?
Thank you this is a GREAT site!

You can check the VIN, (on the front right side on the frame above your forks), compared to the title VIN to make sure its the same. You can also check the VIN online for more information.

I suspect that it is indeed an SE, but I wonder if the PO removed the CB for some unknown reason, , and he didn't mention it when you bought it.
I think the fader switch that sat on the ignition panel was discontinued prior to '00 and the fader was part of the radio/knobs. Someone will correct me if I'm wrong.

It's also possible the PO removed the rear speakers, , , can you see speakers in the speaker-pockets???

Check your service/owners manual for more information, , , if you don't have one, invest in one, , they're a valuable resource for references like this.
Become familiar with the online "parts houses", like partzilla, babbits, or any of the other sites that will show all the parts that came stock on your year/model of bike.

No additional CB ANT you can see the "blanks" where it would go. The CB "hole" looks super clean. The radio has the CB control knobs. I cannot find a fader. I will ck VIN. Yes I can see/got to one of the rear speaker. I bought the Honda service manual.

Maybe I will pull the radio see if anything looks weird at the large connector/wires. Seems it is way simple...to fig out

Maybe a PO bought rear speakers and found they would not work and left them in. I see on the electric diagrham the wires should be routed through a fader.

Thank you!

The fader control on the 2000 SE model will be on the control knobs on the left handlebar. It is on the end of the enclosure that holds the CB channel control switches and the lever to key the mike. Here is a picture of it on mine.

The SE has many different features from the Aspencade. 2 tone paint, rear spoiler, adjustable passenger foot boards, CB, rear speakers, and driving lights to name a few. One important thing, if the timing belts haven't been changed you need to change them now.

yea I'm convinced my bike is not an SE even though prev owner said so. A PO must installed the speakers thinking that was all he/she had to do.

So the belts must have a history of breaking due to age. The wing has 7,000 miles.

Thanks!

I looked up VIN and Ta-DA! It IS an Aspencade. PO must have installed rear speakers and air valves on forks. Speakers don't work (apparently need a fader/harnes). The PO told me it was an SE, I saw the air valves and speakers, so in my ignorance fig it was. My learning curve waw just beggining.

So in HINDSIGHT, the bike has been owned by 2 owners, original had it forever and guy I bought it from picked it up in "17, wife ended up not riding, sold to me Oct '18. Reviewing book values I still paid less than max for the Asp so did allright.
Actually I did great. I did not want an Aspencade, it's the color I like best (red), 7k miles and paid 5.6k :D I had a 1800 in '02-'05 and this 1500 is a Great Bike!
