1996 Goldwing Aspencade needs starter fixed

Post by razmataz »

I bought my first Goldwing last year and only got to ride it a dozen or so times before the starter went out. Of course, the previoius owner knew it and did not tell me it would cost $4000 to repair at the dearlership. I live in Dallas and need to find a place that can do the work right and hopefully offer a better price. Any help??? Please!
Thanks,Mike Sims

A starter doesn't cost anywhere near $4000 to repair. You could buy a whole 1996 GL1500 for that!

Starter motors for the GL1500 can be had for around $120, and should not take more than 1-2 hours to replace, and less than that for an experienced mechanic.
