I removed the center stand and the kickstand from my 95' Aspencade Trike. After removing the kickstand I rotated the saftety switch to when the light on the dash went out. Started the bike put it in gear and died. Tried a few more times same result. I then rotated the switch until the light went back on. Started it and put it in gear and it stayed running. I would have thought the light being off would have been the correct position. While I was replacing the alternator I was able to unplug the safety switch cable and after starting and putting it in gear it of course died. So my question is is there a way to disable the safety switch and remove it so the bike will stay running
Thanks

Re: Kickstand safety switch
The side stand switch is two switches in one. One for the dash light and one for the safeties. Connect the green and green/white wires, and you should be good to go.
