Gearshift sensor
Was wondering if anyone knew what it cost about to have my gearshift sensor changed? Know its different prices everywhere. But just trying to find a ballpark. Thanks

Re: Gearshift sensor
I guess it would take a few hours.
$125-175 labor. Maybe.
You also need a oil change,gasket kit,switch...
Add that all up.

Re: Gearshift sensor
I just did this on my 88 GL1500. The switch for the 88 is no longer available from Honda, so you will need to order one for a newer bike. Also, the coolant needs to be drained and water pump removed so it would be a good time to inspect the one on the bike.
Not a bad job to do yourself if you are mechanically inclined. Most difficult part of the job is removing the old gasket from the block.
The switch and water pump need to be aligned in a certain way. You should get a repair manual if you are going to attempt this project.
