Tow pac Instatrike

Post by agedbikeman »

I'm just about to embark on a Tow-Pac insta trike kit on my 1995 GL1500, my question, is do the turn signals still cancel automatically, as I understand the cancel mechanism works on the angle of dangle, but the bike does not lean and stand up anymore, it's upright all the time.

Thanks
Alex

Lean angle has nothing to do with turn signal cancel. Works off the speed sensor in the speedometer and the handlebar position sensor in the steering head. In fact, there's no sensor for lean angle other than the Bank Angle Sensor which kills the engine in event of a tip-over.

Thank you very much for that, on the few occaisions I rode my Goldwing before I decided I could not handle the weight, I got the impression it worked on tilting, I'm so pleased to be wrong, it never failed to cancel even on the slightest turn. Unlike my Can am Spyder which works on the same principle but is very hit and miss.
Thanks again.

Maybe my Interstate doesn't have auto cancel, they never cancel when I ride, no matter speed or how tight I turn...I've never ridden it far enough without the sidecar to know if that makes a difference.

Ya, Auto-Cancel came on the Aspy and SE but not the Interstate... :|
