Which manuals?

Post by fibersport »

When I bought my bike, a 1990, it already came with a Clymers manual. I'm finding that it seems to leave some information out, or it says to see the dealer. I am looking at some of the factory service manuals and am finding different ones. There are the black covered versions 61MT200-AH or one with a sprocket on the cover and number 61MT880-AH. Since most don't show any pages, it's a little tough to compare. I don't mind used manuals, a little dirt never hurt anyone but I want to make sure I get the most informative one. Can anyone shed any light on these two different manuals?

I also am assuming I should look at the Electrical Troubleshooting manual as well .......?

The best one is the black 3 ring binder with the Goldwing symbol on the front and HONDA in red and at the bottom it says 'Service Manual & Electrical Troubleshooting Manual'. This manual is the OEM dealer used manual and has all the information you need. That said, you can still use the Clymer manual with the OEM because it sometimes shows a different perspective on the system you are looking into, The 3 ring binder also doubles as an easel type workbench standup for ease of use. I found my OEM manuals on ebay for really good prices. Just watch and be patient, it will come.

Thank you, looks like the manual with the sprocket on the cover is the same number of the Helm manual.
