Cooland leak.

Post by bentleyss »

I have a 1995 GL1500 with a Sidecar. Went up to the store today and the bike started to get hot. Came home added coolant and watched a puddle slowly form on the garage floor. Right side. Removed some of the fairing pieces, tightened and checked the radiator hoses for signs of leakage and found none. Followed as best I could the drip to the belt housing but I know theres no water in there. Looking and feeling upwards I could barely see water coming from the head gasket but it might be higher up, as there"s no water in the oil and the bike runs beautifully. I keep reading about these coolant tubes. I will remove some more of the fairing. Are they the chrome tubes. I don't think the head gasket is blown. Can I get to the tubes by removing the fairing surrounding the spark plugs. Tried to take pic of drip but it's really tight up there underneath by the oil filter. You can just see drip coming off frame in very center.
