Help on Front Wheel Marker Lights Identification
Hello Goldwing friends,
I lost one of the amber light lenses on the below pictured light fixtures.
I haven't been able to find a manufacturer name or model number so consequently, I'm having a devil of a time finding a replacement on ebay or anywhere else.
Does anyone know these or does anyone have a spare they are willing to sell? Thanks much!

Re: Help on Front Wheel Marker Lights Identification
I have the same lights on my GL1500. They were on it when I got it. I have no idea what the manufacturer is - but they are specific to the GL1500, and are likely going to be Show Chrome or Markland. Neither will still be available anywhere, so you're going to be faced with trying to find a used one.
My lenses were loose as well, so I replaced all the light bulbs with LEDs that won't need to be changed (because they don't burn out), then glued the lenses into place.

Thanks for the info and great advice re: gluing them in place. Did you have to rewire them for the led's or were you able to find direct replacements for those bulbs. Thanks!WingAdmin wrote: ↑Sat Oct 05, 2019 10:54 amI have the same lights on my GL1500. They were on it when I got it. Re: Help on Front Wheel Marker Lights Identification
No, I used replacement LEDs (amber) from SuperBrightLEDs. They went right in place of the existing bulbs, no modification required.rickdf wrote: ↑Sat Oct 05, 2019 11:27 amThanks for the info and great advice re: gluing them in place. Re: Help on Front Wheel Marker Lights Identification
Sorry to hound you, but what type of glue did you use? Did you go for a very permanent solution, such as epoxy, or did you use something not quite as strong? Thanks!WingAdmin wrote: ↑Sat Oct 05, 2019 11:46 amNo, I used replacement LEDs (amber) from SuperBrightLEDs. Use a little clear silicone. It'll hold, yet easily clean off next time.

Re: Help on Front Wheel Marker Lights Identification
Great Idea. Now that I've lost one and they are so hard to come by I'm a little paranoid but I definitely don't want to do something that would be very hard to reverse in case one of the led bulbs or wiring were to go out. Thanks!CrystalPistol wrote: ↑Sat Oct 05, 2019 7:38 pmUse a little clear silicone. It'll hold, yet easily clean off next time.

You answered before I could. That's exactly what I used, with the added bonus that it makes it more or less waterproof.CrystalPistol wrote: ↑Sat Oct 05, 2019 7:38 pmUse a little clear silicone. It'll hold, yet easily clean off next time.

Perfect. Thank you so much. I didn't even think to look at some of the online cycle parts companies because I thought they'd be really old. Might snag a few for backup. Re: Help on Front Wheel Marker Lights Identification
Building plastic injection molds is EXPENSIVE. Therefore most of the aftermarket parts suppliers will adapt their designs to use available plastic lenses.
This is great, because often it means that a long-out-of-production accessory with a broken lens can be fixed with a brand new lens.
The Markland wraparound trunk lights on my GL1100 really need some TLC. I found that the lenses had "STANLEY" and a part number molded into the back sides of them. Doing a search, I was able to find these lenses brand new online, and replaced them all.

Re: Help on Front Wheel Marker Lights Identification
Cool, that's good to know for future reference. Thanks again for all the info you provided me. I have some LED bulbs and the lens on the way so I should be able to tighten up my situation with those lights because I really love the way they look. I also have rings of fire on the front wheel and together they look fabulous at night. So happy the PO put them on and I bet they weren't cheap!WingAdmin wrote: ↑Sun Oct 06, 2019 8:18 pmBuilding plastic injection molds is EXPENSIVE. Re: Help on Front Wheel Marker Lights Identification
While I'm waiting for the replacement lens to come in I replaced the old bulbs with LEDs. Wow, what a difference. I'm going to replace all my side, trunk, tail lights, etc. now! Quick question for anyone that might know. I'd use RED LED's for red lenses and not clear, correct? Thanks again for everyone that chimed in with info and help. Cheers. //Rick//

Re: Help on Front Wheel Marker Lights Identification
Correct, when using LEDs, the color of the LED must always match the color of the lens.rickdf wrote: ↑Wed Oct 09, 2019 1:28 pmWhile I'm waiting for the replacement lens to come in I replaced the old bulbs with LEDs.
