All my 1500's have used Progressive 416 shocks and now finding that they are no longer in manufacture by them and the internet is dried up. What are people going to as a replacement? I"ve used my supply after rebuilding several times. Any info would be hepful.
Thanks

I just bought new seal kit last couple weeks from Amazon for like $23. Now I have two kits. Progressive's number is 76-5041 or 30-5041, both numbers are on my packets. I've had Progressive Suspension 416s on my 1200 since the late '90s, the ones on the trike date to 1998 for sure, never had a leak yet on either. What happens to yours to cause need to rebuild?

Broke a mount several years back on 416. Replaced with 412 but lower as Progressive Sales recommendation, with higher spring rate. (Pull a Hannigan and camper ). Lower shock wore out my inner mud guards. The mechanicals also broke a mount after 80,000 miles. Have used 416 on 8 Wings since 88 so know they can be rebuilt; have repaired my own. Looking for options other than Progressive.
Thanks

Oh, I see. I thought maybe you were just looking to rebuild and looking for more kits? You might find some complete shock units on Ebay, take offs from a wreck or bike being parted out due to low resale values of late? All I know of is stock, 450 IAS spring side unit, or the 416s. I was once given a new 450 IAS unit after a friend had his bike triked, I mentioned it in a post once when I read it was discontinued, it went west via USPS.
Good luck.
Good luck.
