oily sooty spark plug on righthand side cylinder

Post by wingdings »

Hi - Peeps - have a small problem with my gl 1500 1989k wing - just pulled the plugs to change them.On the last plug on the right hand cylinder the plug is a little oily and wet too smells like petrol all the other plugs are fine as they should be - I was wondering weather it could be a spark problem as there is no oil in the coolent and the bike sounds and runs ok too !! ??? :( :( :( :( :( could it be the spark plug lead ??...

Run a compression comparison check..
Replace the plugs..idle it..lift another plug wire a half inch or so from the plug and listen to the Poppin...Is it the same as the fouled one..
Pull the fouled plug wire.Listen to the room drop.Is it the same if you pull another one?
